Plot Summary:

The Mummy is a rousing, humorous, suspenseful and horrifying epic about an expedition of treasure-seeking explorers in the Sahara Desert in 1925. Stumbling upon an ancient tomb, the hunters unwittingly set loose a 3,000-year-old legacy of terror, which is embodied in the vengeful reincarnation of an Egyptian priest who had been sentenced to an eternity as one of the living dead. The Reviews:

"I was cheered by nearly every minute of it." --Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun Times

"...it's the summer thriller compacting a little comedy, a little romance, some cool FX into ninety plus air-conditioned minutes. It's good, clean, average, rated PG fun. Whatever!" --Judith Finn, Budapest Week Magazine

"The Mummy is a gaudy, sprawling, swashbuckling special-effects carnival that spills over the top in almost every way." --Margaret A. McGurk, The Cincinnati Enquirer

Mummy Sequel:

On May 4, 2001, Universal Studios released The Mummy Returns in North America and made history. The $70,000,000 opening weekend gross was the largest in history for a nonholiday weekend premiere. Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz, and John Hannah each reprised their roles in this heavily-anticipated sequel. The story takes place 10 years later and centers around the 9-year-old son of Fraser and Weisz' characters. Check out the Brendan Fraser Film Consortium for the latest Mummy News.
