General Hospital won the 1996 Daytime Emmy for Best Drama

Character Summary:

Though often credited with being the second actor to play Dr. Pierce Dorman on General Hospital, Tuc was actually the third. He was definitely the most memorable. As previously played by Jim Fitzpatrick and Rob Youngblood, the character was simply an arrogant jerk, but by the time Tuc took over the role in October of 1996, Pierce had evolved into a menacingly evil character that GH fans loved to hate. He seduced Monica Quartermaine into an extramarital affair, then sued her for sexual harrassment when she broke up with him. He was also a nasty drug dealer, who got Monica's daughter and several other Port Charles teens hooked on heroin. In June of 1997 (a mere 9 months after Tuc took over the role), Pierce was murdered. For the next few months, most of Port Charles' best-known citizens came under suspicion, but it was eventually revealed that Pierce was the target of a hired hit, his killer a mysterious character known only as "The Tin Man."

The Reviews:

"Tuc Watkins was GH's [third] Dorman, but he easily made the role his own by exhibiting an appealing combination of talent, humor and charm. He turned watching this lying, cheating, drug-dealing doc into a guilty pleasure." -- Soap Opera Digest
